Often, the daily hustle and bustle is the main reason women don’t take proper care of their health. Sometimes, the body shows signs of an unusual change, and while some women see their doctor right away, others prefer to ignore it and hope it goes away on its own. If these signs are hormone-related, you’ll experience physical and mental changes that you need to address.

Hormones are chemicals produced by the glands of the endocrine system. They travel through the bloodstream to tissues and organs, where they transmit messages that tell the organs what to do and when to do it. They are responsible for regulating appetite and metabolism, sleep cycles, heart rate, sexual function, overall mood, stress levels, and body temperature.

Hormonal imbalance occurs when there are fluctuations in the amount of hormones in the blood. Because of their essential role in the body, even the slightest hormonal imbalance can cause side effects throughout the body. What are the most common causes? Pregnancy, menopause, menstrual cycles, stress, a sedentary lifestyle, and a poor diet.

Here are 11 symptoms that may indicate a hormonal imbalance in women:

  • Fatigue
  • Night sweats
  • Hot flashes
  • Decreased sexual desire
  • Weight gain
  • Sleep Problems
  • Irritability
  • Anxiety
  • Sudden mood swings
  • Low mood
  • Discomfort During Intercourse

It is important to note that the symptoms of a hormonal imbalance can be mistaken for common conditions. That is why it is important to see a doctor, undergo a complete medical checkup, and get a diagnosis.
