  • A 21% decrease in new coronavirus cases worldwide was reported.
  • This week marks the third consecutive week of declining cases.
  • More than 12 million new cases of the virus were recorded in the week of February 14 to 21.
  • The number of deaths worldwide fell by 8% to around 67,000, the first time since January that the weekly death toll has declined.
  • The highest numbers of cases were seen in Russia, Germany, Brazil, the United States, and South Korea.
