San Juan, Puerto Rico— The United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officially recognized Centro Ararat, Inc. as a 501(c)(3) organization.
Section 501(c)(3) is the part of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code that allows for federal tax exemption for nonprofit organizations, specifically those that are considered public charities or private foundations.
This new designation for Centro Ararat solicit service proposals from public and private entities that were previously inaccessible. It will also allow it to receive donations from entities located both in and outside of Puerto Rico that wish to claim a federal tax deduction for their contributions.
This is a significant achievement for an institution that has been in existence for over 20 years. We are confident that this new certification will result in new services and great benefits for the population we serve.
