San Juan, Puerto Rico- En el contexto de la celebración del día Nacional de realizarse la prueba de VIH, la Fundación CDC anunció que seleccionó a Centro Ararat entre las organizaciones comunitarias que ayudarán a facilitar el acceso a las autopruebas del VIH como parte de los esfuerzos para ponerle fin a la pandemia.
La selección de Centro Ararat va a la par de una asignación presupuestaria que permitirá más acercamiento a las personas vulnerables al VIH, superar barreras como el estigma y el miedo a un diagnóstico positivo.
The CDC Foundation emphasized the importance of getting tested and highlighted that one in eight people in the United States living with HIV are undiagnosed and more than one-third of new transmissions are attributable to people who are unaware that they are living with the virus.
This grant validates our pilot program for accessing and shipping HIV self-tests, developed as part of our education and marketing plans. In line with these efforts, over the past year and a half we have invested in incorporating new technologies and optimizing the processes for shipping self-tests and preventive materials.
